Half Marathon Training Begins (Again)

Well, it’s that time again already!  Time for half marathon training to begin again. While on vacation 2 weeks ago, Sam and I signed up for the Crawlin’ Crab Shell Yeah Challenge (5k & Half Marathon), which will be the first half marathon of the Fall season (October).  Time to start training!!  I have been running 3 times a week since my last half in May, but have been sticking to 3-4 miles.  With the heat and humidity, the runs have been very tough.  Some days, its hard to believe I was ever able to run more than 3 or 4 miles, but I know I will get there again.  My Tuesday/Thursday runs have been difficult to squeeze in due to Gabby’s swim meets in the evenings, but I am hoping to get them in before work this week.  That will also help us beat the heat.  This weeks plan:

  • Monday – No training.  Why you ask?  Because Sam and I are taking the girls to see Taylor Swift!!!  Woot Woot!
  • Tuesday – 4 mile run
  • Wednesday – body pump
  • Thursday – 3.5 mile run
  • Friday – No training
  • Saturday – Body pump
  • Sunday – 5 mile run
